This week on Thursday, January 30th, we welcome a New Moon in Aquarius, and Friday the 31th begins the Chinese Lunar Spring Festival – aka – Chinese New Year. You probably know that there are 12 animals and that they change each year; 2014 is the year of the Horse – a Wood Horse, to be specific.
Through my own life experiences, I’ve learned that Chinese astrology offers great wisdom. If you want to understand your partner in a new way – just check out his or her Chinese animal and think about how it relates to yours.
Energetically, it pays to align yourself with the season at hand, and imagery surrounding the horse is easy to apply to your life. To get into the flow and maximize the benefits of this ancient wisdom, just think about the nature of the animal. The horse is a symbol of travel and rapid movement and this year you are best served by creating momentum for speedy rides to your destinations.
With their herd mentality, horses are generally kind, and they like to be with others. What this means for you is that it’s an optimum year for working in partnership. I’m already enjoying opportunities for joint ventures, and I’ll bet you are too!
The horse year also highlights talent and entertainment. People respond to being delighted and treated well (groomed). Horses are clever, social and they like the limelight; think of your business as being on parade for 2014.
Standing tall, horses are competitive and proud, a quality that corresponds well to business and personal gain. Understand that people will keep busy schedules to pursue their goals in the year of horse.
Also, horses have ingenious ways of communicating (think ‘horse whisperer’). Although horses sometimes talk too much, (like some people), they are cheerful and perceptive, earthy but stubborn.
Make like a horse and share joy among friends, activate your work and play, and refute failure. Last, but not least, the horse is a Chinese favorite animal connected to heat, hot, fire and red. Since the horse is social, and red is also connected to love, there is also a connection with romance. Courting and affection nurture a spark for success in other areas of your life.
So, one of your best strategies for 2014 is – just make like a horse. Set your intentions with this New Moon on Friday for a year to be playful, ardent, intelligent, strong, and keep moving.
With love and blessings,
