In Feng Shui, the bathroom has the biggest influence on the chi energy of your home. The bath affects finances, health, and confidence. This is where we cleanse our bodies inside and out. While these physical processes happen, you also get rid of unwanted chi, and this helps to release old emotions and ideas. You may notice you feel emotionally refreshed after a shower or spa bath. Water acts as a magnet to draw toxic emotions out of your body, leaving you feeling renewed.
Plumbing is considered a threat to the vital Chi circulating throughout the house. Chi, energy can be pulled down the drain. Water is synonymous with wealth. Dripping tap water from faucets and leaving the lid of the toilet seat open creates wealth running away.
Bathrooms should be designed to allow us some peaceful moments. The colors we use in the bathroom affect how we feel there. Blue brings serenity and can actually lower the blood pressure. Green rests the eyes and calms the nerves. Using essential oils like Bergamot, lavender and geranium alleviate stress and anxiety, while camomile, rose, ylang ylang, and lemon balm are wonderful for irritability and creating a peaceful mood. Baths can rejuvenate when you use bath salts or orange rinds to draw toxins out of the body. Orange rinds are known for their ability to help you release sorrow.
