Wednesday brings us once again to the time of full moon this month in the sign of Cancer. Remember, the full moon is always in the sign opposite the Sun - so, since the Sun is still in Capricorn, the full moon will be in Cancer.
The moon is empowered in the sign of Cancer, and there is always something special about this time of month in January. Native American's named this the 'Wolf Moon' with regard to it being a time of deep snow when food could be scarce.
Aptly, the sign of Cancer is also about food and nurturing, but as you move into the gifts of Capricorn and Cancer, I suggest that this full moon be called the 'Gratitude Moon.'
Both signs address the human qualities of vulnerability (Cancer) versus strength (Capricorn); and having enough (Capricorn) to insure survival of the tribe (Cancer). Think about the holiday traditions of giving gifts - in primitive language this is a display of having more than enough to meet basic needs and being able to expand into sharing and generosity.
What this lunar cycle can do best is to help you open your heart; you need only allow your heart to shine as big and full as the mid-winter moon.
